Delicate, blue flowers

This is a manicure I did using decals I bought from AliExpress. I find water decals much better than nail stickers because they go on very and form better to the nail. When I bought the design, I thought it was going to just be decals of the blue flowers and butterflies. But it was a whole nail cover and on a white background. I didn't want the bold white look, so I trimmed away all the white background leaving just the pretty blue. I painted a sheer, shimmery white base and applied the decals over top. I love how it turned out!

Rose Gold Stars

This is one of my favorites mostly because of the colors. I am infatuated with all things rose gold right now! My ring finger is done with star sequins. I always top sequined nails with a layer of acrylic to keep the sequins from chipping off.

Dotted Line

This design takes a small dotting tool and a steady hand. You can't really tell in the picture but I used two different colors of polish on each nail. It's pink on one side on each dotted line and gray on the other. However, I chose two very light and sheer shades that you can barely tell the difference.

Silver Stripes

This is an easy design made with striping tape. First I painted my nails silver. Then, I placed the striping tape to make designs on each nail. Next, I used black polish over the striping tape. Last, I pulled the tape off. The trick is to stripe all your nails at the same time after you base color dries because it's hard to handle the tape when your nails are wet. Also, paint one hand from pinky to thumb, then pull of the strips off tape from pinky to thumb. Then, do the other hand in the same way. The key is to let the polish dry a little before pulling the tape off, but you can't let it dry too much.

Fall leaves

The only good things about colder weather are the cute winter accessories and fun nail designs!
I finally figured out how to use my stamping plates. I was having trouble getting the image to transfer. I found a video that shows you how to prep the jelly stamper and it solved my problem. You can watch it here.
First, cover nails in a base color
Then, layer different leaves in fall colors on each nail

Dripping blood

Dripping zombie's blood nail design. This idea is so easy and so forgiving. It's perfect even if you don't have a steady hand because you want the drops to look natural. It was a perfect finishing touch to my zombie costume🧟. I used a thin nail art brush to drag red polish from my cuticle toward the tip of my nail. Then I lined my cuticle with red.
In case you are wondering about my white eye, it's a contact lens. You can't see through them so I only wore one!

Dandelion

Dandelions always make me feel a little nostalgic.
I used water decals for the dandelions. Placement is key. The seeds are blowing in the wrong direction. I didn't think about it until I was done.
I used a different color in each finger because I wanted a fading effect but that didn't work out either. Oh well, they still look cute!

Braid

Braided designs are fun and easy. I like playing with color schemes. I added the design to 2 fingers and went for a simpler line designs on the other fingers. It was perfect for an island vacation!

Sundays No. 18

I got this polish in my Ipsy bag. It's called Sundays and the shade is No. 18

Construction Zone

I did this design for my friend who had a construction themed party for her son.

Feathers

I used water decals to do this feather design. I got them from AliExpress for super cheap. They are very easy to use. You apply like you would a kids temporary tattoo.

Houndstooth

This was last month. Quite an improvement from the first time I attempted it.

This was the first time I attempted this design about 2 years ago
This design looks hard, but it's really easy. It doesn't take a lot of skill, just a steady hand. You have to do it in layers so it is a little time consuming.

Hawkeyes

Go Hawkeyes! My husband is a huge fan of the Hawkeyes so I thought I'd support the team! I used striping tape to create this look. Just paint a base color of your choice. When dry, create designs with the tape. Then paint the second color over top and remove the tape. It's best to remove the tape when the top layer is still wet.

Sunset

This sunset design was fun to do. I did an ombre with yellow and orange first. It looks cute up close, but from a distance the birds looked like bats so it felt very halloweeny.
